Richland Lifestyle

Updated: Jun 5, 2020

Those seeking to buy a home in Southwest Michigan have many options when it comes to lifestyle. The core of Kalamazoo county, Downtown Kalamazoo, offers small city life with walkability to unique restaurants and bars as well as easy access to jobs at Borgess, Bronson, or Western Michigan University. In contrast, the outer edges of the Greater Kalamazoo area provide various suburban and rural communities with a quieter lifestyle but still close to the Kalamazoo, Battle Creek, and Grand Rapids city amenities. We may be biased, but one of our favorite places to call home is Richland.

Richland, MI sits just 9 miles from Downtown Kalamazoo, 15 miles from the heart of Battle Creek, and just under 50 miles from the epicenter of Grand Rapids. Its accessible location allows those searching for a quiet lifestyle to stay connected to jobs, nightlife, and transportation. And traveling is made simple with Kalamazoo Battle Creek International Airport a short distance west down I-94 and Detroit Metro Airport a quick highway trip east on I-94. If you’re headed to the big lake, Lake Michigan’s coast and the numerous beach towns that offer perfect day trips are only one to two hours away.

With such a convenient location, the Richland community is a favorite among first-time homebuyers, business executives, and retirees alike. Top-rated education at Gull Lake Community Schools and a variety of homes, from neighborhood living to rural acreage, provides homebuyers with kids the necessary options and opportunities to feel confident in their choice. Homebuyers looking for luxury estates or lakefront living will find incredible options from sprawling country residences to high-end neighborhoods; Richland provides a variety of affluent homes. No matter your choice of home, its locally-owned restaurants and shops provide ample choices in entertainment and amenities.

The most notable influence on lifestyle in Richland is, of course, its centerpiece: Gull Lake. The all-sports inland lake offers a true Michigan water experience. With incredible views, stunning sunsets and sunrises, fishing, sailing, boating, and more, the lakefront homeowner will not be disappointed. The Gull Lake Country Club adds a place for its members to enjoy the lake with friends and family as well as a top golf destination.

Richland and Gull Lake residents enjoy a unique community lifestyle that offers a range of homes, top-rated schools, locally-owned restaurants and shops, and easy access to its neighboring cities. If you are considering buying a home in the Greater Kalamazoo area, Richland is a town you’ll want to explore. Contact Team Clancy for local, experienced guidance.
